Please follow our artwork preparation guidelines to ensure that your artwork file is set up correctly for printing. This will help avoid any production issues and ensure that your final product meets your expectations.

1. Add 3 mm of Bleed

During the production of paper products, slight cutting imperfections are to be expected — cutting can be off by a couple of millimeters from the cutting line. To accommodate for these small shifts, add 3 mm of bleed on all edges of your artwork. Ensure all colors, background images, and design elements extend to the edge of the bleed area to avoid unwanted white borders after trimming.

2. Keep Your Content Within a 3 mm Safety Margin

To prevent important elements like text and logos from being cut off, keep all critical content at least 3 mm inside from the trim line (also known as the “safety margin”). This ensures that nothing essential will be too close to the edge after trimming.

3. Use CMYK Color Mode

For accurate color representation in print, always set your artwork to CMYK color mode. This ensures the colors you see on-screen will translate properly to the final printed product.

4. Use an Image Resolution of at Least 300 DPI

To guarantee sharp and clear images, all raster images (photos or non-vector elements) should be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch). Anything lower may result in blurry or pixelated prints.

5. Use the Right Values for Grey Elements

When creating grey elements, ensure you use the right CMYK values to avoid color inconsistencies in print. For a neutral grey, use equal values of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:50).

6. Use the Right Values for Black Elements

For solid black areas, use rich black (C:60 M:40 Y:40 K:100) to achieve a deep, vibrant black. For text and fine lines, use pure black (C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100) to prevent over-inking.

7. Use Maximum 2 Colors for Lines Finer than 2 pt

For thin lines (less than 2 pt in width), use no more than 2 colors to ensure clarity in printing. This reduces the risk of misregistration and blurry lines in the final product.
